Curvaceous hips with a small, tapered waist are the prominent features for women with the Opal body shape. They have small to medium shoulders with breasts varying in size and slender ankles and wrists. The hips and thighs curve outward and weight gain occurs primarily below the waistline. If weight loss is attempted by following a very low fat, low calorie diet, there is a reduction in the breasts, shoulders and arms, but, alas, not from the problem areas of thighs and buttocks. It is important to note that this body shape can also gain weight in the stomach. If you gain weight in the stomach and have weight in the hips and thighs as well than this is you and not to be confused with the Jade body shape that the hips and thighs go inwards.
