Danshen, or Salvia Root, is a central herbal in Chinese Medicine. It is said to enter the Liver and Heart meridians and effects the body by Clearing Heat, Cooling the Blood, and Dispelling Blood Stasis, and Calming the Spirit. Most often, Salvia Root is used to combat chest pain or heart palpitations, but because of the Liver’s connection to the Eyes, Dan Shen is also said to combat diabetes-caused loss of vision. It may also promote liver regeneration for someone with severe liver damage. Recommended dosage is one vial, three times per day.
